Austrailian Wine
Australian wine has become some of the most popular wine in the world because of its great grape growing climate and large expanse of land. Grapes grow so well that the price has dropped so low that many farmers are encourage to cut down some of their vines, lowering the supply to help drive up the cost of grapes and wine. It is so prolific that wine saturated the market in Australia driving the price down to unheard of levels.
This has led some Australian wine producers to use more complex processes of growing, especially biodynamic practices. Biodynamic wines use very natural processes to promote healthy vineyards, soil and grapes. Many different plants and composting methods are used which has a beneficial effect on the plants and that is imparted into the wine, making it tastier and more expensive which is good for farmers and wine aficionados alike.
One of the most popular Australian wine varieties is made from the Syrah grape, which seems to have a propensity for the dry environment that is unavoidable down under. Many other grapes are used, almost all old world varieties.
